Though the threat is different today than it was back then, this phrase has been running through my mind as an appropriate expression for our present time.
Arizona is running in third place in foreclosures with an economy that was based mostly on residential construction and statewide tourism. Jobs and tax monies are drying up like a summer rain on Interstate 10.
My little construction/repair business has dried up as well with folks zipping up their wallets for the long haul of uncertainty pervading the country side. Whether I can hold on to my little house of which I am not in the "upside down" value category, depends now on how quickly I can find employment that will at least sustain my minimal cost of living needs throughout this period.
Thusly I am headed out to find this employment where ever I can find it, even out of state if need be. And as my sub is ending tomorrow I am not renewing though it afforded me very enjoyable access to to a lot of great art and artists.

ps: After 6 months on the site the smiley seen above is the only one I figured out and got to work with any regularity, but I can build a house from bare ground up to the roof!
